When the first season of Manifest began airing on NBC in 2018, it seemed at first to be yet another successor to LOST: an ensemble drama revolving around a missing flight and cryptic, supernatural occurrences. But the drama series soon found its audience, thanks to some propulsive, increasingly wacky plotting, and it ran for three seasons before being canceled by NBC due to a decline in viewership.
However, just like the characters that were presumed dead in the pilot episode, Manifest returned via streaming for a fourth season thanks to Netflix, which opted to renew the show in much the same manner that it has done for other popular network dramas like Lucifer. This meant that Manifest fans were given a resolution to the cliffhanger ending of Season 3.
Season 4 was released on Netflix in two parts, and the most recent batch of episodes have just dropped on the streaming service, continuing the stories of the passengers who acquired psychic “callings.”
Will there be a Season 5 of Manifest?
Sadly not: Netflix has not renewed the show for a fifth season, and Season 4 was very much designed to bring all of Manifest‘s various plot threads to a satisfying conclusion.
“Never in my wildest dreams could I have envisioned the worldwide outpouring of love and support for this story, its characters, and the team who work so hard to bring it all to life,” said series creator Jeff Rake when news of the move to Netflix was first announced. “That we will be able to reward the fans with the ending they deserve moves me to no end.”
