How to shop Love Island’s pre-loved wardrobes including Tasha’s green sequin dress

Love Island is back for summer and this year, eBay UK is sponsoring the ITV2 dating competition in a major move towards promoting sustainability.

Instead of wearing clothes by fast fashion brands, this time, the cast have been sporting second-hand looks, from vintage gems to big-name designer brands.

However, just because it’s pre-loved doesn’t mean you can’t shop their looks this year. To help viewers copy the outfits of their favourite Islanders, the show’s official fashion sponsor has a page where fans can nab the exact on-screen looks, as well as similar styles.

On Tuesday night, the cast proved that second-hand clothing can be just as stylish as shop-bought, as they enjoyed their very first pre-loved party with a glistening sequin and metallic theme.

The Islanders served up some glitz and glamour in everything from shimmering party dresses and glittery mini skirts, to chainmail tops and shiny bomber jackets. These were all hand-picked by celebrity stylist Amy Bannerman to help the stars look and feel their best during their summer of love.

Amy decided upon this theme, after seeing searches for sequin dress and shiny bodycon dress go through the roof, explaining: “It’s well known in the fashion industry that sequins are one of the biggest culprits of landfill and so bad for the environment.”

She adds: “It’s so exciting to see the Islanders glammed up in pre-loved for the Shimmer and Shine party. I really wanted to show how sequins don’t just have the wow factor one time round, to encourage the nation to think pre-loved first for their next party dress and extend its life cycle”.

One of the standout looks from the night was the bright green sequin dress worn by 23 year old model and dancer Tasha Ghouri.

Featuring lace-up detailing at the side, she finished off her look with a pair of matching metallic green platform heels, giving major disco vibes. The star’s dress was originally from Pretty Little Thing but was re-sold on eBay for £30 here.

Another Islander sticking to the sequin theme was international dressage rider and daughter of famous footballer Gemma Owen.

The 19 year old has already turned plenty of heads in the villa but it was her gold sequin mini dress we wanted to couple up with. Now out of stock everywhere, the House of CB number named the Lorelle suited the star perfectly, with a chic high-neck design and wrap skirt.

Channelling the 90s and Y2K era with her party look was Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne. Sporting a gold, backless chainmail top, she teamed the second-hand item with a pair of white shorts and gold heels.

Paige’s top was vintage New Look, which was re-sold on eBay for £84.99 here.

Opting for a similar style, 23 year old hotel waitress Indiyah Polack stunned in an iridescent halter-neck chainmail top, originally £45 here, and a lime green silk mini skirt, which retailed for £80 here on eBay.

Whilst most of the looks are currently out of stock, we’re told that certain products will be available to purchase via auction on eBay UK in the near future. But for now, check out eBay’s site here for updates on what the stars are wearing, with similar styles available to shop.

Shoppers can also get 15% off all pre-loved on eBay with the code PAY15LESS until Thursday at midnight.
