IFT injects vigor into the power of Radio Educación, 96.5 FM

Radio Educación, a station of public radio AM / FM that transmits under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture, managed to double its transmission power from 3000 to 6000 watts, a figure that would seem insignificant before the authorizations in the same sense that they have commercial stations of 10,000 watts from the modulated amplitude band, for For example, and also with coverage in Mexico City.

This is an achievement for a station whose AM signal will be on the air for one hundred years in 2024, but which has only been broadcasting on FM since in 2018 and with a power limited by the interferences that can originate in the very tight radio market of the capital.

Another station but of a commercial nature, the XHINFO-FM “Aire Libre 105.3 MHz”, also seeks to increase its transmission power to 6000 watts and then the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) should evaluate and argue the sense of why to grant or deny the request of Aire Libre , which has also been looking for a way to improve the quality of its signal in Mexico City and parts of the metropolitan area for three years.
