Brazilian midfielder, Raphael Augusto spent six years playing in India and the Indian Super League (ISL), representing Chennaiyin FC and Bengaluru FC during the time, with the 31-year-old revealing that the country and the league will always be in his heart.
Augusto was widely considered to be one of the most elegant players on the pitch during his time in India, with the midfielder playing a total of 71 games and played a key role in winning two ISL titles.
The Brazilian was especially brilliant for Chennaiyin FC as he was the most creative player for CFC during the 2016 Hero ISL, and it was a loss for all the fans to see him leave the league in 2020.
“Yes! Of course! India and the Hero ISL are always in my heart, so I cannot live without watching the league. I think I watch almost all the games, including the games of my friend Eli Sabiá, we are very close friends,” he said when asked about India during a chat with Indian Super League’s official website.
The 31-year-old currently plies his trade for Dhaka Abahani in the Bangladesh Football Premier League for whom he has already helped win the Independence Cup and the Federation Cup so far.
