Kacey Musgraves Delivers a Soul-Baring SNL Performance Wearing Just Her Boots and a Guitar

Kacey Musgraves lays bare her soul in the recent heartbreak album Star-Crossed. It was fitting then that the country singer similarly stripped away all the props, lighting, and costumes for her return to Saturday Night Live during the season premiere on Oct. 2.

Musgraves performed both “Camera Roll” and “Justified” on the sketch show, and for the latter, she simply sat “nude” on a stool, with her guitar providing privacy, in an apparent homage to Forrest Gump. Following the performance, Musgraves tweeted a still from the film depicting Jenny’s strip-club performance of “Blowin’ in the Wind.” Watch both of her emotional performances ahead.
