The DAX opened the year-end meeting 0.1 percent lower at 15,837.56 points. After that, the stock market barometer moved moderately in the profit zone. At the final bell there was a gain of 0.21 percent on 15,884.86 counters on the board.
In the middle of the week, the DAX paid a little tribute to a five-day recovery rally. Despite all adversities, investors looked back on a successful year on the stock market: Despite the ongoing corona pandemic and the prospect of rising key interest rates in the USA, there is an increase of 15.79 percent to book. The DAX reached its record high in mid-November at almost 16,300 points. Trading via XETRA ended today at 2 p.m.
Individual values were moved on Thursday mainly by so-called “window dressing” measures. By this, stock exchange traders mean purchases and sales of shares that have so far performed particularly well or poorly in order to look as good as possible in the end-of-year accounts.
