For anyone aiming to catch some of college baseball’s top talents in one place, the Shriners Children’s College Classic has you covered this weekend. According to Collegiate Baseball Newspaper rankings, the tournament is hosting top-ranked Texas, No. 3 LSU, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 27 UCLA, Baylor and Oklahoma at Minute Maid Park for nine games across three days.
Seven of MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Draft prospects will be featured in the tournament this weekend:
Jacob Berry, LSU (No. 4)
*Blade Tidwell, Tennessee (No. 13)
Jordan Beck, Tennessee (No. 28)
Peyton Graham, Oklahoma (No. 34)
Cade Doughty, LSU (No. 35)
Jared McKenzie, Baylor (No. 47)
Drew Gilbert, Tennessee (No. 82)
*will not play due to injury.
The seventh annual Shriners Children’s College Classic got underway Friday, with games being broadcast on MLB Network and streamed on MLB.com and the MLB app. After Baylor hung on to beat UCLA, 2-1, LSU walked off with a 5-4 win over Oklahoma in 11 innings and Texas beat Tennessee, 7-2, in the nightcap.
All six teams will see action again today and Sunday with every game being shown live on MLB Network, MLB.com and the MLB app.
