The blue, grey, black, and green watches of the collection are now complemented with two-tone variations
Established in 1832 and based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, Longines is one of the most storied luxury watch brands — one that’s widely respected for its technical expertise and allegiance to tradition and elegance. Longines, which has outlets in more than 150 countries, is also a popular luxury brand in the Indian market. Over the years, the company’s winged hourglass logo has garnered instant recognition and universal admiration among Swiss watch connoisseurs in India.
One of the most desirable lines of watches from Longines is its bestselling HydroConquest collection, which is inspired by the world of water sports. Designed to appeal to athletes — or even anyone who simply loves sporty, outdoorsy watches — these watches boast 300m water resistance, a unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown and case back, and a secure folding clasp with an integrated diving extension piece.
The collection, with its 41mm stainless steel case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and anti-reflective coating, was earlier available with blue, grey, black, or green dials, with the bezel featuring a beautifully finished ceramic insert in the same colour as the dial. The line has now been complemented with two two-tone variations in steel and yellow PVD, and steel and rose PVD. The PVD (physical vapour deposition) process of plating on the new variants ensures that the watches can endure hard use for longer periods without losing their sheen.
The HydroConquest line is powered by Longines’ self-winding L888.5 movement, which features an antimagnetic silicon balance-spring for high precision and durability. The automatic, self-winding mechanical movement beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour, and offers a power reserve of about 72 hours. Besides the steel and rose PVD bracelets, the collection is now also available with black, blue, or green rubber straps.
With their sporty styling and given that they are suitable for wearing in both casual and formal settings, diving watches are quite popular with enthusiasts everywhere. The Longines HydroConquest line, with its elegant styling, broad range of colours, interchangeable straps, and, of course, absolute timekeeping precision, works equally well as a daily driver or something that’s only taken out for special occasions. Either way, you have a winner on your hands.
