Man, 90, dies after being hit by ute while riding mobility scooter in Wakeley, Sydney

An elderly man has died after being hit by a ute while on his mobility scooter in Sydney’s southwest.

The ute collided with the scooter on Canley Vale Rd, Wakeley just before 5.50pm on Wednesday.

A 90-year-old man riding the scooter was assisted by members of the public before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The man died early on Thursday morning.

The 50-year-old ute driver was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

He is assisting police with their investigation into the incident.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any relevant dashcam vision to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
