Fernandes demands reaction after Everton draw
Bruno Fernandes has admitted that Manchester United need to ‘look at their mistakes’ after they drew 1-1 against Everton on Saturday.
Anthony Martial’s first half strike gave United the lead, however Andros Townsend equalised in the second half following a swift counter attack from the Toffees.
The draw marked the second successive Premier League home game in which United have dropped points, after they lost to Aston Villa last Saturday and Fernandes admits their form at Old Trafford hasn’t been good enough.
“We should win this game,” he told Match of the Day. “We should create more chances. We should not concede that kind of goal. It’s not the first time and we have to look at our mistakes and see what we can do.”

Solskjaer explains United’s defensive struggles
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has played down United’s poor clean-sheet record after Everton held them to a 1-1 draw on Saturday lunchtime.
United have kept just one clean sheet in their last 18 matches, and have failed to prevent the opposition from scoring at Old Trafford since the 1-0 win over West Ham in March.
The United boss claimed their record was due to their vulnerability against counter-attacking sides.
“The amount of goals we’ve conceded in games, we conceded one and that’s one too many,” Solskjaer said. “Today, it’s a counter-attack they throw at us, we were well enough organised and should have dealt with the situation a lot better.”

Manchester United missed the opportunity to go top of the Premier League after they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Toffees.
Solskjaer opted to make a number of changes following United’s midweek Champions League victory over Villarreal, but Owen was surprised that Lingard didn’t start as he only came on as a late substitute on Wednesday.
“I can’t believe Jesse Lingard’s not…I thought he’d start today,” Owen said on BT Sport.
