The different laboratories are progressing hand in hand with the Ministry of Health and donations are received from other countries through bilateral agreements. In recent weeks, the strategy reduced the rate of doses applied due to the shortage of the Moderna vaccine and many have stopped receiving their second dose.
However, this week a new shipment of said biological will arrive in the country that will allow to continue immunizing the qualified population.
How will the distribution be in Colombia?
The director of DAPRE, Víctor Muñoz, said that the 1.4 million doses of Moderna will arrive this September 30 in Colombia together with their quality certificates and requirements to be distributed in the country’s regions from Friday October 1.
In dialogue with Blu Radio, the official assured that the vaccines that will arrive will be enough to complete the vaccination schedules of the citizens who until now have a dose of the biological. “At this moment we are working so that we do not have any delay. We are working hand in hand with Moderna and distribute within hours of receiving the biologics. (…) The new vaccines will be enough to cover second doses. In the next week and a half, 1.5 million vaccines will arrive ”, assured Muñoz.
How many doses of Moderna will arrive in Colombia?
As reported by the National Government, through the director of the Administrative Department for the Presidency, Víctor Muñoz, in total there will be 1.4 million doses of Modern Pharmaceutical those that will arrive in the country from Memphis, United States. Likewise, the official confirmed that in the afternoon of Wednesday they were waiting for the laboratory’s review to be able to distribute the 356,860 doses that are still in the country since September 19.
The shipment of vaccines is also part of the 2.8 million Janssen biological doses that arrived in the country last weekend in two shipments, and at 338,130 doses of Pfizer that were destined for pregnant women, children from 12 to 17 years old and to complete vaccination schedules. In this sense, the country completes more than 46 million doses received, of which, according to the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz, more than 9,244,020 have arrived in September.
