Munich: drug scandal of the Munich police – three officials accused

According to the public prosecutor, 13 proceedings were discontinued because no evidence of the crime had to be provided. In a further twelve proceedings, penal orders had been applied for and in some cases already legally binding.

In three cases the public prosecutor brought charges – the Those concerned are already suspended:

  • A colleague is said to have bought and sold cocaine, disclosed official secrets and embezzled ammunition.

  • A third policeman is accused of possessing marijuana and of having “flaunted a person’s helplessness” by taking a picture.

A key witness has unpacked

In the opinion of the public prosecutor’s office, the officers, most of whom come from the Munich police headquarters and other Bavarian police stations, do not constitute a closed group. However, there are friendly and collegial relationships.

In addition to the proceedings against a total of 37 police officers, there were also proceedings against 21 private individuals – most of them had been discontinued.

The allegations against the police officers had come to light because an alleged drug dealer unpacked as a key witness in a court case about his alleged customers in uniform . The police officers are said to have committed the legal violations predominantly while partying in their free time.
