Scientific research has already pointed out that The
blood type influences increased risk of infection by Covid-19. Now, a new study may help to better explain this virus behavior in the human body.According to a survey by scientists at Kent University, UK, Covid-19 virus behaves very similarly to a blood transfusion and transmission may be larger between people of the same type s

This study appeared after evidence from other research shows that people with
blood type O were less likely to get Covid-19. Type A blood, on the other hand, is the one that most can catch the virus, but the one that transmits the least.
“This explains why Type O people are at lower risk of infection. Just as they reject non-O blood transfusions, they can reject virus particles from a patient with non-O blood, thus escaping infection,” explained study leader, researcher Peter Ellis.
The scientist also reinforced that, just as people with Type O blood are “universal donors” and can donate blood to any human, they can also easily infect people with any blood type.
According to the researchers, countries that have a greater diversity of blood types among their citizens may present natural barriers to circulation of the virus and hinder the proliferation.
