Newcastle wants to avoid relegation
Howe wants more players to arrive this month to revive the club’s hopes of avoiding relegation this year . In a report published by The Athletic , the five positions the former Bournemouth coach wants to tackle are: a striker, a left-back, two center-backs and another striker. Newcastle saw two offers for Sven Botman rejected by Lille, with the Dutch defender due to stay in France until the end of the season, forcing the Magpies to change their approach. Diego Carlos of Sevilla is also targeted, as is Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth. The Newcastle Chronicle reported that the club are interested in signing 19-year-old Hugo Ekitike from Reims. Chris Wood (Burnley) is also followed.
