Managua, Jan 14 (Prensa Latina) Nicaragua forecasts economic growth for 2022 between four and six percent, after the results received last year and the new trade relations, the Minister of Finance and Credit said today Public, Ivan Acosta.
According to the official, the Central American country expects the expansion of the commercial market with China and alluded to the statistical closing , in November 2021, with the overachievement of forestry, fishing, livestock, stationary production of basic grains and agriculture.
This last sector, reported, had a growth of 10.6 percent, especially in the cultivation of tomatoes, potatoes and onions and the export, in the same period, of one million 700 thousand quintals of beans and, regarding the industrial livestock sphere, recognized a performance of 7.1 percent higher than 2020.
Likewise, coffee exporters project the collection of three million quintals, in a cultivated area of around 50,000 manzanas, destined, above all, to territories of the European Union and the United States, and the livestock sphere reported the generation of more than 1,200 million foreign exchange.
The American magazine Forbes, specialized in business and finance, recognized Nicaragua’s economic growth index and placed it in ninth place, based on data from the Economic Commission for Latin America ( ECLAC), included in the preliminary balance of the region.
According to the numbers of this agency dependent on the United Nations, the Central American country showed an indicator of 7.4 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), above countries such as Costa Rica , Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Ecuador.
