Once Human Will Servers Wipe?

Although the public welcomed Once Human, there is a game mechanic that was not well appreciated by several players, namely the server wipes. In this article, we will therefore tell you everything you should know on this topic, so as not to be caught unprepared.

Once Human is a game that, based on its foundations, may be able to have a long life and have its say in the world of free-to-play games. However, the addition of this controversial gameplay mechanic was not taken kindly by everyone. But before you can decide whether it is a risky choice or not, it is essential that you know how it works.

Once Human Wipe Duration

For the moment, there is still no official news from the developers. What we do know is that every couple of weeks, players will suffer losses regarding the things they have been able to accumulate up to that point. As far as a precise, albeit unofficial, date is concerned, we can say with almost certainty that the Once Human server wipe will take place on August 20th, or exactly six weeks after the release of the game.

But why did the developers decide to take this path? It’s actually very simple. Since they have decided to focus on the seasonality of the game as much as possible, every six weeks (i.e. every start of a new season), all the progress made up to that point will be lost. In this way, developers can ensure that there is always a different gaming experience.

Obviously, don’t worry about the fact that you’ll have to do the same thing over and over again. The developers have stated that with the release of the new seasons, special events will be created with new enemies, bosses, game mechanics, and more. In short, there will always be something new to face.

This is definitely a very brave choice on the part of the development team. Often, this type of game’s strength lies in the fact that it can continue to progress and strengthen its character, as well as being able to obtain new things over the course of the various seasons. For the moment, we don’t know if this choice is the right one or not, but it is certainly a situation to monitor.

Once Human Will You Lose Progress

Having archived the most general aspect regarding the Once Human server wipe, the time has come to delve into the crux of the matter. We said players will lose their progress, but what exactly? Here’s a list of what players will have to say goodbye to every time there is a server wipe in Once Human:

  • Character
  • Armors
  • Weapons
  • Resources
  • Materials

As a result, what you’ll have to do at the start of each new season is basically create a new character. However, there are also some things that can be kept, such as cosmetic items, blueprints, and mods. Furthermore, as if that wasn’t enough, there are some objects that can be kept if sent to Eternaland; even if we don’t know exactly which ones, and in any case, it is a practice that will require you to use Material Points.

That’s all you needed to know regarding this edgy issue on Once Human. This is certainly an interesting game mechanic which, if implemented properly and with always different events full of things to do, can be successful. Obviously, a lot also depends on how the players decide to approach all this.
