It’s understood the pair were passengers in a car that crashed on Lake Road around 10pm on Thursday.

Also in the car was an 18-year-old driver and three other passengers – two aged 18 and one aged 19.

Those who were first on the scene say at least one of the six teenagers had been flung from the car.

Locals have called the fatalities “tragic” and “just heartbreaking.”

Mark Bogonia’s family released a statement to 7NEWS on Friday afternoon.

“We are devastated by the loss of our precious son and brother,” they said.

“He was such a loving and caring young man who had his whole life ahead of him.

“We thank you for all your thoughts and continuous prayers at this time.”

Mark’s older brother Luke said he would be remembered for his kindness and sense of humour.

“Mark was strong in his Catholic faith and wanted to go to uni and study to be a phys ed teacher,” he said.

“He had an infectious sense of humour and was kind, caring and always willing to help others.”

Police are now calling for witnesses to help them piece together exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the tragic crash.
