Polášek and Peers mastered the drama, they are separated from the finals by a single win

SYDNEY. Slovak tennis player Filip Polášek and Australian John Peers have already advanced to the doubles semifinals at the ATP tournament in Sydney.

The third pair dealt with the Kazakh-Pakistani pair Aleksandr Nedovyesov, Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi 3: 6, 6: 3 and 14:12 in Thursday’s quarterfinals. The winner was decided only by the matchbreaker, in whom Polášek and Peers were not far from losing. At 9: 8 and later 11:10, they averted the opponents’ sword ball and finally turned themselves into a fourth chance to end the match.

Interestingly, the winners of the Indian Wells tournament needed to win only one match to advance to the semifinals. In the first round they had a free draw and their rivals Denis Kudla and Marcus Daniell did not enter the eighth final.
