The National Center against Organized Crime will deal with information from Pandora Papers, which concerns Prime Minister Babiš and other Czechs. The Investigace.cz website wrote on Sunday that Babiš sent almost 400 million crowns through his companies in tax havens, for which he then bought real estate on the French Riviera, including the Bigaud chateau. Babiš admitted that the then procedure was not suitable for politicians.

According to opposition politicians, the prime minister should prove that he properly taxed the funds spent on the purchase of real estate on the French Riviera in 2009 and stated them in his tax return. Some of them on Twitter today pointed to Babiš’s parliamentary speech from May 2015, in which the prime minister said that he did not have companies in the offshore. “So who’s the crown liar here?” wrote on Twitter People’s Deputy Marek Výborný Justice Minister Marie Benešová said about the Pandora case that it was an attempt to bring down the preferences of the YES movement. According to her, the person who came up with the case should file a proper criminal complaint. The international journalism project Pandora Papers, which deals with the use of offshore companies, features over 300 Czechs and 178 offshore companies with a Czech background in the leaked documents. Among them are a former minister, a criminal, local politicians, a banker, armourers, real estate and media magnates and the richest people in the Czech Republic, said the website Investigace.cz. )
