Das AR-VR-Headset des iPhone-Herstellers soll nicht vor 2023 auf den Markt kommen.
Sie soll das erste wichtige neue Apple-Produkt seit der Einführung der Apple Watch im Jahr 2015 werden und könnte in den kommenden Jahren auch das iPhone ersetzen. Doch bei der Entwicklung der Mixed-Reality-Brille von Apple treten Probleme auf, berichtet Bloomberg.
Das Gerät soll überhitzen, auch bei den Kameras und der Software soll nicht alles rund laufen. Vor 2023 seit nicht mit dem Marktstart des Geräts zu rechnen, heißt es weiter.
Präsentation frühestens Ende des Jahres
Laut Bloomberg wollte Apple das Gerät, dass Augmented- und Virtual-Reality vermischt, heuer bei seiner Entwicklerkonferenz WWDC im Juni präsentieren und wenig später veröffentlichen. Nun soll sie frühestens Ende des Jahres vorgestellt werden und wenige Monate später auf den Markt kommen, zitiert Bloomberg mit der Situtation vertraute Personen. Apple selbst wollte den Bericht nicht kommentieren.
Ursprünglich sollte das Gerät, an dem Apple seit 2015 arbeitet bereits im vergangenen Jahr präsentiert werden. Laut Gerüchten soll das Apple VR-AR-Headset zwischen 200 und 300 Gramm wiegen und über 3 Micro-Displays sowie mehrere Kameras, die Hand- und Augenbewegungen der Nutzer*innen tracken, verfügen.
Angetrieben werden soll es von 2 Prozessoren. Das Gerät soll auch funktionieren, ohne an ein iPhone oder an einen Mac gekoppelt zu sein. Als Preis für die erste Entwicklerversion werden 3.000 Dollar kolportiert.
