The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez Palomino, said today that the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism or (Promperú) will promote the nine internationally certified sustainable destinations that the country has obtained.
This was stated today when receiving the certification and diplomas of the nine Peruvian destinations that make up the “Top 100 Sustainable Destinations List”, awarded by the international organization Green Destinations .
“From our executing agency of promotions, Promperú we will add, preparing more than 60 tourist packages where the nine destinations will be our priority, due to the articulated work”, said the Minister Sánchez.
The recognized Peruvian destinations are:
1) Tambopata National Reserve ( Mother of God).
2) Alto Mayo – Tarapoto (San Martín).
3) Pacaya Samiria National Reserve (Loreto).
4) Gocta – Kuélap (Amazonas).
5) Pomac Forest Historic Sanctuary (Lambayeque).
6) Tingo María National Park (Huánuco).
7) Titicaca, Sacred Lake of the Incas (Puno).
8) Sandia, the Coffee Route and the Bahuaja Sonene National Park (Puno – Madre de Dios).
9) The Colca Canyon (Arequipa).
The “Green Destinations ”Is a global recognition that rewards the most respectful tourist places with the ecosystem and minimal impact on the environment and local culture.
Minister Sánchez highlighted the need to value these internationally certified destinations , within the national strategy for tourism and the reactivation of tourism.
“Our platform And you what plans , is our instrument that will allow giving priority to these destinations ”, he stressed.
Likewise, he indicated that from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) and from the Copesco plan, they will work to accompany investments in the aforementioned destinations.
He also mentioned that Peru also It already has the international certification “Safe Travel” for around 50 destinations, which indicate that they have sanitary protocols. years for tourism activity.
