Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has provided an exclusive update on the squad ahead of Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Watford at Old Trafford.

Our reporter Stewart Gardner sat down with the German tactician at Carrington following his latest pre-match press conference with journalists.

You can read and watch the full Q&A with Rangnick from 09:00 GMT on Saturday morning, but in the meantime we can provide the latest squad news.

Part one: Ralf’s Watford press conference

In part one of the press conference, Rangnick discusses UEFA’s decision on Russia, facing Watford and Anthony Elanga…

Ralf has lots of options to choose from this weekend, but unfortunately they do not include our combative midfielder Scott McTominay.

The Academy graduate is still unavailable for selection due to the bout of illness that forced him to miss our Champions League draw with Atletico Madrid in midweek.

Rangnick has also informed us that Edinson Cavani will not feature against Watford at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Uruguay international has been struggling with a groin issue and has not featured since the draw with Burnley at Turf Moor on 8 February.

“The situation is exactly the same,” Rangnick told us, when asked about the squad.

“He [Cavani] hasn’t been training with us so he won’t be available for tomorrow’s game and the same is true with Scotty. He is still ill, he hasn’t been training with us, so hopefully he will start training with us again next week, but for tomorrow’s game they will both be unavailable.”

Line-ups for United v Watford will be announced at 14:00 GMT on Saturday, one hour ahead of kick-off.
