Ankara Chamber of Grocery and Dealers Craftsmen, who made a speech at the 27th Ordinary General Assembly, said that the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) and the current Chamber President Bendevi Palandöken said that they were working on the problems faced by grocery stores. Underlining that they are making an effort to meet the demands of the grocers and to voice their problems, Palandöken said, “We talked to the highest level of the state and did important work on the resolution of these issues. You know, the law is in Parliament. Chain markets will not be able to sell bread and cigarettes. Only grocery stores will sell these products. Switching times is what we’ve been saying for years. But, unfortunately, the reason why the problem of not opening shopping malls and chain markets on these Sundays is not resolved is something like that all the people who do this job refuse to trade. We are a friend of mine who ensured that the chains did not sell other products, just as we had you open your workplaces during that pandemic period.”
