A boy and a woman were injured by gunfire near an Oakland high school on Tuesday evening, officials said.
The Oakland Police Department said it responded to the report of the May 9 shooting just before 5:30 p.m. on the 8600 block of MacArthur Boulevard, near Castlemont High School in the Castlemont neighborhood, just northwest of the Oakland Zoo.
At the scene, officers found the boy and the woman with gunshot wounds, police said. The two were taken to a local hospital, and police said that, as of Wednesday morning, they were in stable condition.
Police didn’t say whether the boy and woman were related.
No arrests were made, and as of Wednesday, there were no suspects, police said.
The department’s felony assault unit is investigating the shooting and asking anyone with information to call 510-238-3426.
