Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G Review: At the top of the middle class?

For about two weeks we had in our hands the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, which comes in stores with a price of € 479. The S in the name means Speed and this is due to the new Snapdragon 778G processor, which beats in the heart of the device.

The competition at this price is very high and in fact we would say that from € 500 they start the flagship devices, so it is the thin point that separates the middle from the high end category.

The Galaxy A52 5G made the start, with the A52s following, with the main difference being the chipset, which offers much higher performance, but also better autonomy. But a stronger chip has to do with the ISP (Image Singal Processor). So the Snapdragon 778G is not just about performance, but several areas of a smartphone.

Let’s take a closer look at the Galaxy A52s.

Design

In terms of design Samsung Galaxy A52s are the same as Galaxy A52, both in size and weight. The materials are the same, since we have a frame and back made of plastic and a front made of Gorilla Glass 5.

The plastic of the frame and the back are of high quality, although for this money we would like aluminum and glass. Nevertheless, the device has a very good grip, with a pretty nice finish. However, at € 479 we would say that the robustness and luxury of the metal is necessary, but not a given.

We would like at least a small change in the design, so that the user has the feeling that he bought a new model and not an older device. However, this does not spoil the general impression that this is a very beautiful device, with very good ergonomics.

What makes it stand out from the competition in this money, is the existence of IP67 certification, which makes it resistant to water and dust. This in itself makes the device stand out from the competition, which at prices up to € 500 does not offer this feature. It may seem small to many, but the peace of mind that waterproofing offers is important! In fact, for this money, we would like all devices to have this feature, which usually raises the price, which may justify the price of the A52s.
