Chup looks bad but it’s funny that they really thought of making a movie on a subject like that, also added Guru Dutt for intellectual purposes.

In a recent interview, Balki said, “I just choose ideas and I go with whatever the genre that idea deserves. This one happens to be in the thriller space. I am not saying that it is a bloody film, but it has a lot of killing. It is not gory or creepy but a sensitive film. I hope people will find more awareness after watching it and they will be a little more sensitive when they spark an opinion on anybody. We pass opinions on everything so I just want people to be more sensitive towards something that one has spent time on.”

Thinking along similar lines, Deol is quite excited to do this role. Speaking of which, he said, “I have done different films in my career, however, this one really hits it out of the park in terms of the character and its story. It feels like you’re looking into someone’s inner workings and the character I play is especially unique so it was an altogether new experience for me.”

Another interesting aspect to note is that Amitabh Bachchan has turned composer for this one. Balki talked about it in an interview and stated, “It all happened very impromptu. I asked Amitji to see the movie (Chup). After seeing it, he called me over and he played me a tune on his piano and said that’s what the movie and the characters made him feel. He was very touched. I was ecstatic. I asked him if I could use the tune and he immediately gifted it to the movie. Today, Chup is the first film that has got Amitji’s official composition as the score for the credits.”
