Google pulled out of the tablet market in 2019 with the Pixel Slate. However, the search engine has not abandoned its activity as a manufacturer of electronic products, quite the contrary! And according to a patent, the company is still interested in tablets …
A futuristic tablet
Google’s latest attempt, the Pixel Slate, ended in failure despite strong arguments. In 2019, the company exited the market, leaving it to others to keep the Android spirit alive on tablets. Google has, however, kept an eye on the sector and it could come back with a very impressive product… According to a patent! It was only recently that this patent, filed in Japan in March 2019, was made public. He describes a tablet with a fairly futuristic look, with a screen with rounded corners and very thin borders, two characteristics that combined, still seem impossible to obtain in the industry. However, that didn’t stop designer Snoreyn from producing images of this future (maybe?) Product.
This concept should be taken with caution, the patent giving no details on the ports, buttons or photo sensors of the tablet. He thus imagined a USB-C port, a centered camera integrated into the screen, all powered by Android 12. It is quite logical, the operating system to be released shortly. However, Google could use Chrome OS, as was the case with the Pixel Slate. Pending the (hypothetical) announcement of this new tablet, the next products that Google should officially unveil will be the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. It is also rumored that new Nest products could be launched in the coming weeks.
