South Korea's President Wants To End Dog Meat Consumption

The president of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, questioned the consumption of pet meat: “Hasn’t the time come to prudently consider the ban on the consumption of dog meat?”

Moon’s opinion is following the opinion of the population that has increasingly adopted dogs and cats as pets.

Second The Times newspaper, almost four in five South Koreans approve the ban on the consumption of dogs.

Between 2015 and 2020, the number of pet adoptions grew from 2.5 million to 6, 3 million people, so people are joining this trend.

Now, the South Koreans have started to sell dogs more as companion than food, and are starting to become less tolerant of cruelty against these little animals.

In the country, pets are raised in deplorable conditions and tortured to death in restaurants to make the meat softer, the same happens in China, according to West Magazine.
