Stacey Solomon says Joe Swash steals all her makeup and leaves it in ruins

Newly-wed Stacey Solomon is certainly fulfilling the vow to share all her worldly possessions with Joe Swash. The TV star has revealed that her new husband is partial to dipping into her beauty stash – including her favourite make-up!

In an exclusive chat to mark being signed up as the newest celebrity face of L’Oréal Paris, the presenter tells us that nothing in their Pickle Cottage bathroom cabinet is safe from her husband, who doesn’t seem to take great care of it either.

“Joe definitely steals all of my beauty products, he doesn’t have any of his own,” the Loose Women star laughs.

“He steals my moisturiser, he steals my foundation, he steals my bronzer. I’ll go to find something and he’s literally dug a hole in it. I’m like “what happened to my bronzer? and he’s like, ‘oh yeah I used it…’ With what? A shovel?”

Wait, so Joe likes wearing your make-up, Stacey? Do tell us more!

“You have to remember he’s on camera a lot so you do have to put a bit of bronzer on,” she explains.

“I don’t know why on earth he doesn’t just buy his own. Maybe he doesn’t feel it’s acceptable for him to buy it, when it absolutely is, so he just steals mine.”

It sounds like date night is a real battle for the bathroom mirror chez Solomon-Swash. But which of the pair takes longer to get ready to go out for a romantic night? Yep, no prizes for guessing it’s the male half of the partnership.

“I only really wear my full face of make-up when I’m working so if we go on a date night, I’ll stick some eyelashes on and I’m done,” Stacey tells us.

A long-time fan of L’Oreal’s Préférence box dye, she gave it the ultimate seal of approval by using it to dye her hair blonde at home for her wedding day.

“Joe is quite self-conscious about his hair so he wears a hat a lot, but if we’re going out somewhere together, it will take him longer to get ready than me because he will spend a lot of time on his hair.”

Or perhaps he’s taking so long because he’s secretly plastering on Stacey’s make-up as well? Stacey doesn’t rule out the possibility.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he was putting a bit of cheeky bronzer on,” she laughs.

Now she’s been signed up to L’Oréal Paris, let’s hope she can get Joe a make-up bag of his own. He’s worth it, right?

Stacey is already proving herself a dedicated new signing to the beauty giant. A long-time fan of L’Oreal’s Préférence box dye, she gave it the ultimate seal of approval by using it to dye her hair caramel blonde at home for her wedding day. She used Préférence Hair Colour in shade 9.12, £9.99 here, for her bridal makeover, and is keeping it in good condition with L’Oreal Paris Elvive Hydra Hyaluronic Hair Mask, £7.99 here.

Sounds like it’s silky-soft to have and to hold, Stacey.

Stacey Solomon is the face of L’Oréal Paris Preference Hair Colour, available nationwide.
