ROME – A storm with heavy rain and hail hit Catania in Sicily today, and city leaders announced that a tornado had hit the area.
The ANSA news agency reported that several people were injured, but that no one was hospitalized.
Several houses were damaged, trees were uprooted, and some roads were closed, adds the same source, Hina reports.
Four planes had to be diverted to other airports during the landing.
