The latest Tarkov event is live, Tarkov Arms Race. It’s a great little event but for now, it comes with a nasty bug.
As we get closer to the next wipe in August, the pre-wipe events have slowly started to roll out. This time we have Arms Race, which will have players pick one of two Tarkov traders (Peacekeeper and Prapor) as they go head-to-head in, well, an Arms Race.
Tarkov Arms Race
A quick TLDR of the Tarkov Arms Race event:
- A new set of quests is available for players
- Pick a side, Peacekeeper or Prapor and track progress on the websites for each trader (these are currently not working)
- Rewards will be distributed at the end of the event based on which faction people pick and who wins
- The event is open to PvP and PvE Tarkov players
- Completing the event will reward an achievement
The Quests
Import Control is the first quest in the chain, and will see Factory become a bloodbath (on PvP). The event is also likely a teaser for the new Factory update. While in the event, Scavs sometimes have Western Weapons, though, these are often on very low durability.
Quest 2 is… basically the hard part of quest one but twice as many weapons are needed.
Quest 3 is Caught Red-Handed, which will see you place camera on Lighthouse for Peacekeeper.
For tasks 4 and 5 it’s time to pick a side. Either do what Peacekeeper asks, or what Prapor asks.
Task 5 is the same again, pick a side and contribute to the overall goal. As we write this article Peacekeeper is winning by a fairly large margin already.
Big shoutout to https://www.twitch.tv/purekratos for providing the Screenshots for us.

The Bug
As of publishing, there’s a nasty bug that will see you lose your reputation with traders when you leave a raid. We assume the idea of the event is that you should gain with the trader you pick, and lose with the one you don’t. Sadly, however, this isn’t the case, as people have reported they’ve lost rep with multiple traders.
In our testing, over 3 raids we lost no reputation, however, so your mileage may vary with the event.
Update – The bug looks to have been fixed fairly quickly
