A tiny studio flat in London has been put on the market for £1,600-a-month – and would-be tenants have been asked to water all of the landlady’s 24 pot plants.
The one-bed pad is so cramped the bed is on a bespoke shelf with no headroom, and is accessed via a steep ladder. There is a work-from-home desk directly underneath, plus a wardrobe and drawers. Just a few feet away is a two-seater sofa and a dining table with four seats right next to a pokey kitchenette. A separate bathroom also a shower cubicle, toilet and basin.
Bills, except electricity, are included, but there is no parking or a garden, and pets are banned. But despite the lack of space, the owner of the property has managed to fit in a total of 24 pot plants around the flat, including one in the toilet.
They are described in the listing as “only a few”, and anyone living there has been asked to water them. A notice reads: “Taking care of the owner’s plants would be greatly appreciated, but not burdensome. As there are only a few as shown in the pictures.”
