🟢 A – Asia: With the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Games, the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games (because of the 2021 corona pandemic) and now Beijing 2022, the Olympics will be held in Asia for the third time in a row. The next two hosts will come from Europe with Paris 2024 and Milan/Cortina 2026.

The organizing committee and the Chinese authorities have adapted their Covid-19 countermeasures shortly before the start of the games and the required Ct value reduced from 40 to 35. This could play a crucial role for all those who have recently been infected with Covid-19. In Austria, a Ct value of 30 already applies to be considered no longer infectious and to be released from quarantine. It can sometimes take weeks for the Ct value to rise to 40, for example.🟢 D – Diplomatic Boycott:

Several nations will not send government delegations to the Beijing Winter Games. These include the USA, the Netherlands, Denmark, Great Britain, Japan, Canada or Australia. The boycott is a protest against human rights violations and the Corona policy in China.
