The second season of Goa’s electronic music and performance education camp The Bootcamp kicks off later this month, running from February 26th to March 8th in Vagator.

Geared towards those “aspiring to enter the music-making and performance industry,” The Bootcamp — the brainchild of techno artist Rummy Sharma — is centered around a five-day program featuring daily classes, one-on-one mentorship sessions and elements like listening sessions, jams and a SoundLab to the work to play.

A note for the mentorship program states, “Whether you want to enhance your DJing career, improve your music-making skills, or get your releases on world-class labels, this program caters to your needs.” Presented by the French company 3iS Education, The Bootcamp Goa aims to equip DJs and producers with strengthened skills, as well as “insights into music royalties” and “effective career management.”

The modules include DJing, turntablism, music production on digital audio workstations such as Logic Pro and Ableton, synthesis and sound design, music business/career and other workshops.

Mentors and guest mentors include Indian electronic veterans such as Ash Roy, Calm Chor, Arjun Vagale, Kohra, Nikhil Chinapa, Midival Punditz, BLOT! aka Gaurav Malaker, Sanjay Dutta, Tuhin Mehta, Skipster, Premik Jolly, Ma Faiza and more. The Bootcamp Goa also promises a guided creation of a three-track EP, with mentors along each step of the way. The Bootcamp also concludes with a Synth Fest on March 7th.

The Bootcamp Goa package is priced at ₹1,25,000 including three meals per day, with an additional five nights stay costing ₹20,000. Another route that participants can take is to pick individual modules like Ableton Basics (₹49,000), Logic Pro Basics (₹49,000) and Art of DJing (₹45,000), all of three of which include 20 hours and more, adding on ₹20,000 for accommodation (which is recommended, but not mandatory) and ₹10,000 for meal (mandatory).

Interested individuals can register by emailing register@thebootcampgoa.com, providing details about their experience, current employment, DJing skills, occupation, goals for enrolling, and contact information.
