The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) has pioneered the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) mission to support the highest level of knowledge management, the institution said. This type of program is provided by the World Organization to countries with the most advanced nuclear programs.
Representatives of the Faculty of Science of BME received an IAEA expert delegation in mid-December to review the BSc and MSc courses in nuclear-related higher education at the higher education institution. By reviewing the University of Technology’s training programs, the agency aims not only to support the host university, but also to gather international good practice to support similar training at universities in other countries. In their evaluation, the international experts emphasized that nuclear education is accompanied by a large number of contacts and the benefits of education and research from the teaching reactor operating at BME and on the university campus, citing Attila Aszódi, Dean of BME TTK. The committee proposed to increase the international visibility of nuclear training programs and to further develop the potential of the alumni network .The International Atomic Energy Agency’s similar university support mission (Knowledge Management Assist Visit Level 3) is expected to take place in a number of leading Western universities in the coming period.
