The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, thanked Laos for the recent donation to the island.

Food and cleaning products were donated by the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Frank País International Orthopedic Scientific Complex, to continue supporting the work of the institution in the confrontation with COVID-19.

According to the website of the Ministry of Public Health, Cuban officials thanked the gesture, which will have a special impact on children treated in the hospital. Lao’s collaboration was also highlighted in the midst of the difficult circumstances that the country is experiencing due to the pandemic and the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government.
The donation will benefit to patients infected with SARS-Cov-2 and to the brotherly Cuban people, who have all the admiration and love of the Lao people, said Anouphone Kittirath, ambassador of that country in Cuba, quoted on the website of the Ministry of Health.
Kittirath addressed the impacts of the pandemic has shown that health is the most precious asset of human beings, and highlighted the development of the five Cuban vaccine candidates, three of them are already vaccines- and the immunization campaign massive anti-COVID-19.
