The PS Plus revolution could be coming very soon!

In case you don’t remember, at the end of 2021, we reported that Sony was working hard on a new project, which in turn, should serve as an evolution/revolution of the famous subscription PlayStation Plus. A rethink of the offer, which could potentially bring the service to a level very close to that of Xbox Game Pass, truth be told, is making waves in the Microsoft gaming ecosystem.

At the time, it was expected that this effort, known as ‘Project Spartacus’, would be a reality in the market sometime in the second half of the year. However, according to the latest developments, its release may be coming soon… Very soon.

So Sony really has to respond to the rival’s Xbox Game Pass Microsoft. There’s no turning back! Microsoft’s subscription service is getting more and more appetizing, and PS Plus looks increasingly obsolete.

However, this move is apparently going to happen much sooner than what was expected. After all, Sony has already started removing PS Now subscription cards in several regions, with the following message “Stores have until the 19th to remove all POS and ESD cards from their areas, and later update their system for the next commercial update.”

Well, the removal of PS Now cards sends the message that the service will be absorbed by PS Plus. That is, it will become impossible to buy PS Now separately. Therefore, the cards are completely useless.

Obviously Sony has already gone public saying that all this means absolutely nothing. That players can simply use their account balance to activate PS Now. But… It smells like crap! Something is about to happen.

In case you don’t remember, according to the information that has reached the Internet, it is expected that the ‘new’ PS Now will bring three subscription tiers! A Basic equal to the current PS Plus, an Intermediate with some improvements, and finally, what we all want, a ‘Premium’ package, which in addition to the current PS Plus, will still have PS Now, and apparently, an extensive library of PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games.
