The Bulgarian producer of synthetic fibers “Yambolen” plans to build its own photovoltaic plant next to its plant in Yambol. To this end, the company has requested the approval of its shareholders, according to a statement posted on the x3news platform.
Yambolen plans to sign a contract with local PV Consult to build a solar park worth about 14.5 million. The idea is to finance the investment with a loan for the same amount.
The deal envisages design, construction and installation of a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 9998.46 kWp, as well as delivery of relevant equipment. It is envisaged that the solar panels will be located on terrains and roofs of buildings with a total area of about 100 decares. Yambolen has already initiated the procedures related to the approvals of the construction both to the municipality and to the EWRC and ESO.
The synthetic company intends to use the electricity produced by the solar park for its own consumption, but also for sale. With its investment, the company plans to reduce its energy costs, to gradually renew its fleet in order to increase productivity and reduce production costs. The company also aims to generate additional revenue from the sale of electricity to cover part of the accumulated losses for previous years.
According to estimates of “Yambolen” the investment should be repaid within about 5 and a half years.
Yambolen is mainly engaged in the production of polyester fibers, polyester silk, technical rubber products, inorganic salts and textiles. Its profit fell sharply to BGN 97,000 in the first nine months of last year compared to nearly BGN 200,000 in 2020. For the same period, revenues fell to BGN 526,000 from BGN 751,000, according to the latest financial statements. reports of the company.
