Three employees of the US Embassy in Moscow were suspected of stealing a backpack in a bar from a man in the city center. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian capital.
As the police explained, the incident took place a few days ago in a bar on Sretenka Street. The suspects were identified by CCTV cameras, they turned out to be members of the US Marine Corps aged 21 to 26 years old, they are employees of the administrative and technical service of the embassy.
The amount of damage was 15 thousand rubles. According to a TASS source, the victim works as a child psychologist.
The Russian Foreign Ministry demanded to be removed from diplomats immunity to prosecute them. In case of refusal to lift immunity, the department said, the suspects must immediately leave Russia.
In July, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova stated that an employee of the embassy USA in Russia stole a pointer on a railway in the Tver region. The theft got on the CCTV cameras. The Russian Foreign Ministry demanded to remove immunity from the diplomat, but the United States refused to do this and recalled him from Russia.
