Tim Allen will reprise his role of Scott Calvin in a limited TV series continuation of “The Santa Clause” franchise for the Disney+ service.
In the series, Scott is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realises that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world – especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole.
So, he sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole. Allen previously played the role in the 1994 original feature and its two sequels in 2002 and 2006.
“Last Man Standing” creator Jack Burditt will serve as executive producer and showrunner with Allen, Kevin Hench, Richard Baker, and Rick Messina also executive producing.
20th Television is backing the project which will begin filming in March.
