Twitter Blue arrives in Indonesia, and its perks cost at least IDR104K per month

Elon Musk’s Twitter’s subscription service has arrived in Indonesia, giving the chance for users to pay to get verified and enjoy perks normies don’t get.

Twitter Blue was rolled out to Indonesia, India, and Brazil today, making the service available in 15 countries.

In Indonesia, users may subscribe to Twitter Blue via web for IDR120K (US$7.95) per month, or IDR1.25 million (US$82.78) per year, which averages to IDR104,167 (US$6.90) per month.

Twitter users on Android and iOS apps have to shell out considerably more, with the service holding a limited time offer at IDR165K (US$10.93) per month with no annual plan option.

These prices are nearly identical to Twitter Blue in the US, despite Musk’s previous suggestion that he would lower prices in emerging markets. Can’t say we’re surprised, though.

Of course, the main perk from Twitter Blue is the blue check mark, which, prior to Musk’s reign, was given to notable account holders such as celebrities and organizations.

In addition, Twitter Blue users can post longer videos and get early access to new features being tested by the platform via Twitter Blue Labs.

Other features that subscribers will soon enjoy include a 50 percent reduction in the number of ads on subscribers’ timelines, as well as having their tweets prioritized in feeds.

One notable feature absent from the perks list in Indonesia is the ability to post tweets of up to 4,000 characters long — more than 14 times the current 280-character limit. That feature has so far only been rolled out to Twitter Blue users in the US.
