A bunch of TV promo trailers today for a variety of upcoming series.
First up Netflix has announced that the Neil Patrick Harris-led comedy “Uncoupled” will premiere Friday, July 29th and have released the teaser trailer for the eight half-hour episodes. Tuc Watkins, Tisha Campbell, Emerson Brooks, Brooks Ashmanskas and Marcia Gay Harden co-star.
Harris plays a newly single man who had a perfect life until his hedge-fund manager husband walks out after seventeen years. Overnight he finds himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City and learns that while breakups suck, singledom doesn’t have to.
After that, Showtime has released a new trailer for the fifth season of its Chicago South Side-set hit drama series “The Chi”. In the new run, Tiff (Hannaha Hall) and Emmett (Jacob Latimore) split up after trying and failing at an open marriage and now need to learn how to share the load of being a parent.
Next comes the just-released “Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett” which offers a look at the making of the Boba Fett series and confirms Mark Hamill very much was involved in filming the Luke Skywalker scenes for the sixth episode – the work being a blend of Hamill, body double actor Graham Hamilton and some expert CG.
Then comes the official full trailer for “Pistol,” filmmaker Danny Boyle’s six-episode event series about legendary 1970s punk-rock band the Sex Pistols for FX and Hulu. The show premieres in full on May 31st.
The series is adapted from guitarist Steve Jones’ memoir with Toby Wallace playing Jones alongside Anson Boon as John Lydon, Christian Lees as Glen Matlock, Louis Partridge as Sid Vicious, and Jacob Slater as Paul Cook.
