Netflix knows exactly the perfect combination of love and chaos to keep us attached to the television screen for episode after episode. And with all that knowledge they have about how to make us binge reality shows for hours, they took it and created the social experiment Love Is Blind.

In the first season, we met 30 fresh-faced singles unaware of the strange and ridiculous phenomenon they were about to create. Shoved into small pods, they “dated” each other, got engaged, and tried to prove to the world love could be blind. Most failed (and honestly, we loved watching it). But a few managed to make it to the end, like Lauren and Cameron. And seeing a successful romance felt just as good as watching another crash and burn.

And now we’re back for Season 2, with another round of singles who’ve paired up, desperate to find their soulmates. Among the couples the show chose to focus on, Natalie and Shayne quickly appeared to be a compatible match, but faced drama from the beginning, with Shayne interested in both Natalie and Shaina. Eventually he chose to get engaged to Natalie, but their love story didn’t continue without further drama.

What Happened to Natalie and Shayne on Love Is Blind?

When they first met in the pods, Natalie and Shayne instantly connected. Well, at least it seemed that way from Natalie’s perspective. In reality, Shayne was also talking with Shaina (read: mostly flirting). There was even a moment where he thought Natalie was Shaina, and almost jeopardized his chances.

Eventually though, Shayne proposed to Natalie. But Shaina’s involvement didn’t end there. Although she got engaged to Kyle, Shaina still had feelings for Shayne, and called him into the pod just to tell him that…even though both of them were engaged. Both Shayne and Shaina met with their significant others and went off to Mexico, although Shaina left early when she had second thoughts on her relationship with Kyle. Although they had yet to meet face to face, Shaina and Shayne undoubtedly had some unresolved feelings.

Meanwhile, Natalie and Shayne lacked absolutely nothing in the attraction department, but their humorous banter appeared mismatched. Shayne enjoys sexual innuendos and heavy petting, while Natalie likes more light ribbing and banter. It also sounds like Shayne is looking for a woman to fawn over him a bit more than Natalie is comfortable with. For most of the trip to Mexico things go well, until the last night, when Shayne storms off over yet another joke Natalie makes. It sorta makes you wonder…are they even compatible together?

We still have to see if Shaina shows up to sweep Shayne off his feet in the real world, or if Natalie and Shayne can find a way to make amends.

There’s no word yet on what the final status of their relationship is. Of course, no couples can say anything on their Instagrams yet, so we’ll just have to watch all the way through before we know anything about their impending marriage.
