“Yeshua gave me the stability I was looking for”, says Jew cured of mental disorders

One Jew witnessed how he overcame his problems )with self-esteem and anxiety when having an encounter with Jesus. The man grew up between two faiths, his mother was Christian and his father was Jewish.

In his house, he celebrated so much Christian festivals, such as Christmas, as well as Jewish festivals. “But the spiritual side of things wasn’t there,” he said, in an interview with The One for Israel Ministry.

However, his father would not allow him to believe and approach the Christian faith. In adolescence, the Jew developed anxiety and low self-esteem. He didn’t know who he was, he felt useless and he was lost in his identity.

Once, looking at his reflection in the mirror, the young man said to himself: “ Your friends don’t like you. They tolerate you.” Upon reaching adulthood, the man began to seek approval from other people. The Jew began to work hard to earn more and more money, and thus prove his worth to everyone.

One night, the man went out with his friends to drink . At two o’clock in the morning, he woke up and found that he had been left alone. So he went out into town looking for his friends in a mental breakdown.

The Jew yelled and swore in the middle of the street, bursting with rage. Before his friends could arrive in time to calm him down, the police arrested him for public disturbance.

After this episode, the man realized that he needed help and began to attend counseling at a Christian center, indicated by his mother. He talked about his difficulties and felt that someone had understood him.

A minister explained to him that he was placing his value on relationships with other people, which is not a solid foundation as people are imperfect and fail. The Christian counselor taught the man that Jesus was a solid rock on which he should place his self-esteem and identity.

“Yeshua gave me a sense of self-worth and stability that I was looking for”, he testified.
