Manchester United vil ikke fornye en sponsoravtale verdt 500 millioner med det russiske flyselskapet Aeroflot, ifølge Mirror.

Kunngjøringen kom samme dag som Russland angrep Ukraina, til massiv fordømmelse fra store deler av verden.

United har hatt sponsoravtale med det statlige russiske flyselskapet siden 2013, og den ble fornyet i 2017 med utløp i april i år.

Ifølge Mirror har avtalen en verdi på 40 millioner pund (480 millioner kroner).

Avisen oppgir ingen kilder for opplysningene om avtalen, men skriver at et potensielt omdømmetap ligger bak beslutningen om ikke å fornye den.

Qatar Airways skal være en alternativ sponsor for Manchester United, ifølge opplysninger til den britiske avisen.
