Man’s body found in Sydney carpark

A man is being questioned after another man’s body was found in a carpark in Sydney’s north.

About 7.11am on Monday, emergency services were called to Ilikai Pl at Dee Why, after reports a body had been found in a carpark.

Police found a 40-year-old man at the scene, and declared him deceased.

A 41-year-old man who is understood to be known to the dead man is assisting with inquiries.

He was taken to Manly Police Station.

The death is being treated as suspicious, although no cause of death has been revealed.

No weapons were found and the man had “no obvious signs of injury”, Acting Superintendent Traci Watt said.

“(We’re) waiting on results of the autopsy to understand how this gentleman has died,” Watt said.

Watt said it was still early in the investigation, and it was still unclear if others were involved.
