Technician develops fantastic “UFO patents” for US Navy

Ultra-fast spaceships, inexhaustible sources of energy, space-time-changing weapons – a man has patents for all of this.

On behalf of the US Navy, a mechanical and aerospace engineer has received a number of patents which are listed as “ UFO patents ” have achieved a certain level of notoriety in inventor circles. The patents describe technologies that seem like science fiction, such as means of transport that move at enormous speed through any medium can move – from water to space.

No evidence for the “Pais effect”

The basis for the generator, as well as for other “UFO patents” is the so-called “ Pais effect “- an energetic state of electromagnetically charged matter. A team spent three years looking for evidence of the effect. Half a million dollars were spent on it. After 1,600 working hours, the result was that the Pais effect could not be proven.

Various scientists are extremely skeptical of Pai’s ideas. You speak of a “classic case of pathological science “and wonder why Pais were granted the patents at all. The ideas outlined in it are “a wonderful wish list of things we are striving for”. The descriptions are full of “nonsense claims” that “make no physical sense”.

Secret employment

Salvatore Cezar Pais has after a PhD Graduated from Cleveland, Ohio, already worked at NASA, at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), and at the defense company Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. His followers compare his visionary approach to that of Nikola Tesla. Public statements by Pais are sparse, probably because of nondisclosure clauses with the Navy, for whom he works in the Strategic Systems Programs department at the Department of Defense in Washington DC.

to be impartial about his work.

 エアバスと日本電信電話(NTT、9432)、NTTドコモ(9437)、スカパーJSATホールディングス(9412)傘下のスカパーJSATの4社は1月17日、高度約20キロメートルの成層圏を飛行する高高度滞空ソーラー型無人機(HAPS)の早期実用化に向けた覚書を14日に締結したと発表した。衛星とエアバスのHAPS「ゼファー(Zephyr)」を組み合わせ、大規模ネットワーク構想の実現を目指す。 エアバスの高高度滞空ソーラー型無人機「ゼファー」(同社提供)  今回の覚書では、ゼファーと各社の通信ネットワークをつなげることで、HAPSの早期実用化に向けた研究開発を進める。  ゼファーは成層圏を飛行する無人機で、太陽光を利用したソーラー発電で駆動する。天気や既存の航空交通に妨げられることのない高度を飛行できることから、人工衛星と無人機、有人機の能力のギャップを補い、静止衛星と同様のサービスを提供できるという。  4社は、商業化が始まった通信規格「5G」のさらなる高度化や、次世代の「6G」に向けた取り組みとして、空・海などを含む各所に通信網を拡大する「カバレッジ拡張」の検討を進める。HAPSには基地局設備などを搭載し成層圏を飛行することから、静止軌道衛星(Geostationary Orbit Satellite、GEO)と低軌道衛星(Low Earth Orbit Satellite、LEO)を組み合わせた非地上ネットワーク(Non Terrestrial Network、NTN)技術への活用が期待されている。  HAPSによるネットワーク構築は空や海のほか、災害対策やイベント会場など人が密集する場所での通信容量確保や、建設現場での重機の遠隔操作などに有効であると考えられている。4社はNTN技術を活用したアクセスサービスを「宇宙RAN(Radio Access Network)」と称し検討を進めている。宇宙RANにより災害対策やへき地のエリア化のほか、航空機や船舶などの通信環境の改善につながり、利便性の向上も期待できる。  エアバスとNTTドコモは、成層圏に滞空したゼファーから地上の受信アンテナへ電波を送信する実証実験を2021年8月から9月に展開。スマートフォンの通信に使う2GHz帯の周波数を用いて、成層圏と地上間での電波の伝搬特性を測定し、ゼファーは成層圏に18日間滞空した。 関連リンクZephyr(Airbus)日本電信電話NTTドコモスカパーJSAT ・エアバスとNTTドコモ、成層圏から地上へ電波送信 無人機「ゼファー」で実証実験(21年11月15日) ・スカパーJSAT、エアバスの通信衛星導入 24年度打ち上げ(21年3月25日) ・エアバス、NTTドコモ・ノキアと5G/6G共同研究 成層圏飛行の無人機「ゼファー」活用(21年2月1日) ・エアバスの高高度滞空ソーラー無人機ゼファー、新たな試験飛行成功(20年12月7日) ・エアバス、無人機で25日間飛行 ソーラー駆動「ゼファー」、世界最長(18年8月16日)
