A 74-year-old homeless man died of cold Monday evening in Montreal, while a wave of polar cold affects the metropolis .
The victim was found around 6 p.m. below a viaduct near rue Saint-Jacques and highway 20.
As there is no criminal element in the file, the investigation been transferred to the coroner to determine the exact circumstances of this death.
The Montreal police did not comment on the file.
The extreme cold that hit Quebec has increased the pressure on homeless shelters, hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
