Apple might be working on a more affordable Vision Pro headset for a 2025 release

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning on delivering a more affordable version of the Vision Pro headset and it will likely arrive sometime in 2025. That’s because the $3,499 price tag is obviously too restrictive and the Vision Pro as a product isn’t intended for mass adoption.

The report from Gurman claims the company was initially thinking of delaying the announcement of the Vision Pro’s price due to negative publicity, but preferred to give everyone 9 months time to get used to it.

The future headset, on the other hand, likely called just Vision or Vision One, will aim for mass adoption. Apple could use lower-tier screens, less powerful chip, cut down on cameras or require AirPods for the spatial audio feature.

On the other hand, Apple will try to retain some of the core features, such as the external EyeSight screen and the hand-tracking system.

It is believed that Apple is aiming for a 2025 release while a second generation of the Vision Pro is in the pipeline.
