Een tot op de detail nagemaakte Ferrari 296 GTB als schaalmodel. Prachtig, maar ook verschrikkelijk duur.
Schaalmodellen heb je in alle soorten en maten. Voor een paar euro kun je al een schaalmodelletje kopen, maar die zijn zeker niet gedetailleerd en mooi afgemaakt. Aan de andere kant van het spectrum heb je dit soort gevallen. Een tot op de detail nagebouwde Ferrari 296 GTB schaalmodel. Kosten? € 12.062 euro.
Het gaat hier om een 1:8 schaalmodel. Amalgam, het bedrijf achter de auto, heeft het model in samenwerking met Ferrari gemaakt. Dankzij de officiële goedkeuring van de Italiaanse autofabrikant kun je details verwachten die zeer nauwkeurig zijn aan de echte auto. Maar dat mag je ook wel verwachten voor een dergelijke prijs.
Er worden er in totaal slechts 99 van gemaakt. Elk model kost meer dan 300 uur om te maken. Maar er heeft nog veel meer uur gezeten in de ontwikkeling van deze Ferrari. Amalgam zegt meer dan 3.000 uur nodig te hebben gehad om de 296 GTB te ontwikkelen tot op dit niveau. Dat zie je er ook wel aan af moeten we eerlijk zeggen.
Diverse Ferrari dealers in Europa hebben een voorbeeldexemplaar staan. Naast een standaard specificatie is het ook mogelijk om een persoonlijke configuratie te kiezen. Uiteraard tegen een meerprijs. Zo gaat dat in de wereld van exclusieve spulletjes.
